things | snowmaggedon: blizzard of 2010

Friday, February 12th, 2010

This past weekend, just about the entire East Coast got hit with the second major snowstorm in as many weeks. The first one was quickly dubbed Snowpacolypse, while the second (even larger) storm has been called Snowmaggedon. Whatever you want to call it, it’s clear to see that the Blizzard of 2010 dropped a ton of snowy goodness on us here in NJ.

It’s been a lot of fun and really pretty… All except for the whole shoveling out thing… Hope you enjoy the photos!

*A Note for Photographers: All of these images were post-processed in Adobe Lightroom with the brand-spankin-new Lightroom presets from Totally Rad Actions. I’ve been a ardent fan and user of their Photoshop Actions for ages and these Lightroom presets make my workflow even more fluid and fun. If you don’t already have them, head over to www.gettotallyrad.com (or click on the banner below) and grab them now. They’ll change the way you post-process your shots.

Snow Falling Time Lapse from Scott Neumyer on Vimeo.

I’ve been having a great time playing around with time lapse videos and this one is no different. Fun stuff.

Shot on Canon 5D Mark II with 50/1.4 at 5.6. 200 ISO. Used the DSLR Remote App to trigger the shutter every 2 seconds. Comprised of just over 1,000 frames at 10 fps.

Compiled in Final Cut Pro. Music is Yann Tiersen.
