lifestyle | birthday bbq for margo

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

Last weekend, my good friend Frank decided to have a little BBQ party for his wife (and our friend) Margo. It was a great time. Skylar had fun, swam in the pool, and “chatted” with all the other babies around. All this while most of the guys played some Kan Jam.

food | buffalo chop steak

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

I’ve been taking more food photos lately, so you’ll probably be seeing a lot more of it on the blog in the next few weeks.

Below is a homemade Buffalo Chop Steak we made one night. It’s made with lean ground Buffalo meat on top of a bed of organic romaine lettuce and covered in organic ketchup. SO yummy and healthy too!

animals | spider on a lamp post

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010

I hate spiders. HATE spiders. I happened to see this bad boy hanging out on a lamp post during my walk the other day. Scary, but I just had to get a few shots.

things | trees + wind = fail

Monday, May 10th, 2010

It’s been insanely windy here in Central NJ the past few days. Word is that some flights into the state were even delayed at one point.

Here are a few shots I took while taking my walk this morning. Scary!

Before I got the bursitis in my knees, I’d been taking a lot of walks to try to get myself back into shape. It’s going to be a long haul, but I’m determined to do it this time.

Nevertheless, a few days during my walks I decided to take my camera out with me so expect to see some posts here and there of things I’ve shot along the way. Here’s the first. I dig it. How about you?

brobee

It’s hard to explain just how much Skylar loves Yo Gabba Gabba. She perks up and runs right up to the TV every single time she hears the first notes of the theme song. It’s adorable.

She received this Dancing Brobee doll for Christmas and, though the batteries have died and I need to replace them, she still plays with this thing. She hugs it, and kisses it, and laughs every time she sees it.

things | snowmaggedon: blizzard of 2010

Friday, February 12th, 2010

This past weekend, just about the entire East Coast got hit with the second major snowstorm in as many weeks. The first one was quickly dubbed Snowpacolypse, while the second (even larger) storm has been called Snowmaggedon. Whatever you want to call it, it’s clear to see that the Blizzard of 2010 dropped a ton of snowy goodness on us here in NJ.

It’s been a lot of fun and really pretty… All except for the whole shoveling out thing… Hope you enjoy the photos!

*A Note for Photographers: All of these images were post-processed in Adobe Lightroom with the brand-spankin-new Lightroom presets from Totally Rad Actions. I’ve been a ardent fan and user of their Photoshop Actions for ages and these Lightroom presets make my workflow even more fluid and fun. If you don’t already have them, head over to www.gettotallyrad.com (or click on the banner below) and grab them now. They’ll change the way you post-process your shots.

lifestyle | jon turns 30

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

My best buddy, Jon, turned thirty years old at the end of January and his parents (my second parents, as I’ve always referred to them) decided to throw him a great surprise party. He was definitely surprised when he walked through the door and noticed a house packed with friends and family. We were all happy to be there and had a fantastic time.

Happy 30th Birthday, Jon!!

lifestyle | madison celebrates her 5th birthday

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

Madison had a great time celebrating her fifth birthday at The Jumping Jungle! She and her friends got to bounce, jump, and play for an hour before heading into a party room to have some delicious pizza. She was thrilled! It was a fun day for one of the most fun little girls I know! Happy Birthday, Madison!

lifestyle | meesh birthday night

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

Denise and I decided to head out to the Brunswick Grove to ring in my sister Michelle’s birthday night. The music was loud. The place was packed. And the drinks were flowing! It was a good time. Most of these were shot at around 12,800 ISO on the Canon 5D Mark II. Add a little black and white touch and all that noise turns to sweet, sweet grain. Love it! Happy Birthday, Meesh!
