Last weekend, my good friend Frank decided to have a little BBQ party for his wife (and our friend) Margo. It was a great time. Skylar had fun, swam in the pool, and “chatted” with all the other babies around. All this while most of the guys played some Kan Jam.
We headed out for July 4th weekend festivities yesterday and Skylar had a great time! Denise ran in a 5K (and finished in her personal best time), then we went to the Milltown parade, and headed over to our friend’s house for a BBQ. Everyone had a great time. Skylar and all her little friends (and cousins) were really excited when the froggy pool came out!
Here’s a quick video I shot on the iPhone 4. I even edited it on the iPhone 4 with the iMovie app. So fun and quick to use! Music is by Josh Pyke.
Skylar’s cousin-in-law Brody Dean came down to NJ (all the way from Colorado) to visit a few weeks ago and I got some great shots with his mom and pop!
Skylar’s new favorite thing to do is to pull clothes out of her hamper and into her crib. Then she falls asleep with them all over the place in there. It’s pretty hilarious and totally adorable!
I hate spiders. HATE spiders. I happened to see this bad boy hanging out on a lamp post during my walk the other day. Scary, but I just had to get a few shots.
My sister got the family together last weekend to put together a farewell BBQ for The Boy. They’ve been dating for a few months now and they seem incredibly happy, but The Boy is moving to Portland in about a week. We’ll see how long before he comes back. Ha!
We took The Wiggle Bear to see the Easter Bunny and to have some fun at the local Easter egg hunt the day before Easter. She had a blast and so did we!
These are film scans of shots I’ve made with my vintage (1936-1951) Argus “A” 35mm film camera. To learn more about it, check it out here: http://theargusa.com/
These pictures are straight from developing and scanning. No photoshop except to change size and add my logo.
Some of the outdoor pictures created a CRAZY color cast, so I’ve included the originals and the B&W conversions I made of them.
So much fun to find an old camera, clean it up, and find that it still works in a nice vintage-y way.
Most of the film used is either professional 35mm color or black and white film. Most of it is expired (by about a year or two), which just adds to the fun!
Focusing is messing, colors are crazy, and lens aberrations are abundant.
I miss film.

It’s hard to explain just how much Skylarloves Yo Gabba Gabba. She perks up and runs right up to the TV every single time she hears the first notes of the theme song. It’s adorable.
She received this Dancing Brobee doll for Christmas and, though the batteries have died and I need to replace them, she still plays with this thing. She hugs it, and kisses it, and laughs every time she sees it.
