lifestyle | film | argus “a” on easterSunday, April 4th, 2010These are film scans of shots I’ve made with my vintage (1936-1951) Argus “A” 35mm film camera. To learn more about it, check it out here: http://theargusa.com/ These pictures are straight from developing and scanning. No photoshop except to change size and add my logo. Some of the outdoor pictures created a CRAZY color cast, so I’ve included the originals and the B&W conversions I made of them. So much fun to find an old camera, clean it up, and find that it still works in a nice vintage-y way. Most of the film used is either professional 35mm color or black and white film. Most of it is expired (by about a year or two), which just adds to the fun! Focusing is messing, colors are crazy, and lens aberrations are abundant. I miss film.

This past weekend, just about the entire East Coast got hit with the second major snowstorm in as many weeks. The first one was quickly dubbed Snowpacolypse, while the second (even larger) storm has been called Snowmaggedon. Whatever you want to call it, it’s clear to see that the Blizzard of 2010 dropped a ton of snowy goodness on us here in NJ. It’s been a lot of fun and really pretty… All except for the whole shoveling out thing… Hope you enjoy the photos! *A Note for Photographers: All of these images were post-processed in Adobe Lightroom with the brand-spankin-new Lightroom presets from Totally Rad Actions. I’ve been a ardent fan and user of their Photoshop Actions for ages and these Lightroom presets make my workflow even more fluid and fun. If you don’t already have them, head over to www.gettotallyrad.com (or click on the banner below) and grab them now. They’ll change the way you post-process your shots. lifestyle | jon turns 30Wednesday, February 10th, 2010
My best buddy, Jon, turned thirty years old at the end of January and his parents (my second parents, as I’ve always referred to them) decided to throw him a great surprise party. He was definitely surprised when he walked through the door and noticed a house packed with friends and family. We were all happy to be there and had a fantastic time. Happy 30th Birthday, Jon!! lifestyle | madison celebrates her 5th birthdaySunday, February 7th, 2010
Madison had a great time celebrating her fifth birthday at The Jumping Jungle! She and her friends got to bounce, jump, and play for an hour before heading into a party room to have some delicious pizza. She was thrilled! It was a fun day for one of the most fun little girls I know! Happy Birthday, Madison! Venue: The Jumping Jungle in East Brunswick, NJ lifestyle | meesh birthday nightSunday, January 31st, 2010
Denise and I decided to head out to the Brunswick Grove to ring in my sister Michelle’s birthday night. The music was loud. The place was packed. And the drinks were flowing! It was a good time. Most of these were shot at around 12,800 ISO on the Canon 5D Mark II. Add a little black and white touch and all that noise turns to sweet, sweet grain. Love it! Happy Birthday, Meesh! Skylar had a great time at her first birthday party last weekend! Especially with Marty & Linda. They’re the parents of my long-time best friend and were practically my second parents when I was growing up. It’s pretty amazing to see them holding my little Wiggle Bear!
